THE SECTION OF CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY OF THE SERBIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION


The initiative to submit the application to the serbian medical association for establishing the section of clinical pharmacology has been launched at the request of a large number of specialists in clinical pharmacology, working in different medical institutions. on october 9th, 2008, leading people engaged in clinical pharmacology gathered together, and collectively with the activists of the clinical pharmacology of the medical association of voyvodina of the serbian medical association, reached the conclusion that the establishment of the section of clinical pharmacology of the serbian medical association was necessary.

residency in clinical pharmacology is a medical specialty training, and over 60 specialists in clinical pharmacology are being engaged in medical institutions of serbia, where they work as clinicians. the first generation of specialists in clinical pharmacology passed their board examination in the year 1988. hospital-clinical pharmacologists work at departments of clinical pharmacology of the school of medicines in novi sad, kragujevac and nis, contributing to modern concept of treatment of hospitalized patients. the following professionals declared in favor of initiating the procedure to establish the section of clinical pharmacology of the serbian medical association:

At the proposal of the Steering Committee for establishing the Section of Clinical Pharmacology of the Serbian Medical Association (SMA) dated from October 9th, 2008, the Chairmanship of the Serbian Medical Association, on February 19th, 2009, reached the unanimous decision to establish the Section of Clinical Pharmacology of the Serbian Medical Association. In this way, the specialists, who had completed the medical specialty training in Clinical Pharmacology in Serbia, earned for the first time their own Section of Clinical Pharmacology within the Serbian Medical Association - the oldest professional association of doctors of medicine and dentistry in Serbia.

on february 27, 2009, the founding assembly of the section of clinical pharmacology was held in the seat of the serbian medical association, with the following Agenda:

On behalf of the Steering Committee, the session of the Founding Assembly of the Section of Clinical Pharmacology of the Serbian Medical Association was chaired by Primarius (Head Doctor) Dr. Dragana Maca A. Kastratovic, a specialist in clinical pharmacology. The following authorities were present: President of the Serbian Medical Association - Academician Prof. Dr. Radivoje Colovic, specialist in surgery; Chairman of the Belgrade Branch of the Serbian Medical Association - Primarius Dr. Mirjana Mojkovic, specialist in general medicine; Chairman of the Board for Head Doctor's Position - Primarius Dr. Dragoljub Ivankovic, specialist in general medicine; Adviser of the Serbian Medical Association, Head of the Legal Department - Suzana Bjelogrlic, Bachelor of Laws; and, 50 specialists in clinical pharmacology from the entire Republic of Serbia - Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis, Sabac, Pozarevac, and Valjevo.

At the proposal of the Steering Committee, the Management of the Section of Clinical Pharmacology was unanimously elected.

The attending physicians were greeted and supported in their future work by the SMA President, Academician Prof. Dr. Radivoje Colovic and Chairman of the SMA Belgrade Branch - Primarius Dr. Mirjana Mojkovic.

The President of the Section of Clinical Pharmacology, Professor Dr. Momir Mikov expressed his gratitude for bestowed honor and hospitality, pointing out that the engagement in the Serbian Medical Association has numerous advantages along with responsibility to respect the Articles of the Serbian Medical Association.

Regular meetings of the Section of Clinical Pharmacology of the Serbian Medical Association will be held on the last Friday every month, at 3 p.m.
